The Shins is of course, James Mercer. While I haven't listened to this album much this late in the year, I did listen to it a bunch right after it was released. How can one not like The Shins? They are the hallmarks of indie rock. It has been a long five years without them, even though the original lineup no longer exists. In fact, Mercer fired all the band members and recruited from Modest Mouse and Fruit Bats for the new line-up. In the dry spell, Mercer has done some solo work and of course, teamed up with Danger Mouse and produced Broken Bells. It's certainly not my favorite The Shins album, but I like it. In true Mercer fashion, one of the best videos ever is below.
Thanks for stopping by. I listen to entirely too much music and love sharing music almost as much as I love listening to it. The purpose of this blog is to do just that and bring you along the journey with me.
