19. Shearwater - Animal Joy
Jonathan Meiburg and Will Sheff formed this band as an outlet for more mellow songs from their main musical venture, Okerrvil River. It is named after a tribe of seabirds. Jonathon Meiburg has a masters in geography with a focus on ornithology. With the inclusion of Howard Draper (The Mountain Goats, Akron/Family, and Blonde Redhead), the band has risen up in the indie ranks. To date, this is my favorite album they have put out.
