If you've listened to Sarah Jaffe before, but somehow neglected to pick this album up, you are in for a big surprise. Her previous style had been a moody singer/songwriter with folksy roots. This new album still highlights her moodiness, but backs it up with an electronic core and pays homage to her interests in hip-hop as well. Her incredibly beautiful voice and heartfelt lyrics still shine through and I welcome the change. It made for an infinitely more enjoyable listening experience, and I always like to see artists challenge themselves. Bravo! This young woman lives right down the road in Denton, Texas.
