This is purely coincidence, but Ramona Falls opened for The Helio Sequence, however, because of Tasting Notes, I was unable to see them play. Showed up as they were packing up their gear. I was, needless to say, crushed. Ramona Falls is Brent Knopf, who is incredibly nice. They are out of Portland, Oregon. You may have heard his name before, he was, until recently, one third of Menomena, who, incidentally, came out with a great album this year as well. Their first album, Intuit, was genius and this one is no less than that. I am completely smitten with this band. Dark, piano driven, orchestrated movements in melody. Ramona Falls is also the name of a waterfall near Mt. Hood where Knopf grew up.
Thanks for stopping by. I listen to entirely too much music and love sharing music almost as much as I love listening to it. The purpose of this blog is to do just that and bring you along the journey with me.
