The Kopecky Family Band is, simply, the best. In addition to putting out more exceptional music, they were kind enough to play for my show, Tasting Notes. The group is out of Nashville and consists of Gabe (guitar, vocals) and Kelsey (vocals, keys), along with Steven (lead guitar), Corey (bass), Markus (cello), and David (drums). The interplay vocally between Gabe and Kelsey provide something special to this extremely talented six piece. Having discovered them a couple years ago at SXSW and picking up their EP, The Disaster, I fell immediately in love. They've played here in the city twice this year, as well as a VDub session and for the radio show. If you missed that, you can see them in Fort Worth at Lolla's on January 18th. This is their first full length album after three EP's, and well worth the wait. They really knocked it out of the park. You can view the Vdub session and their time in the studio with me below. Their visit to OK City was one of the high points of my year.
Thanks for stopping by. I listen to entirely too much music and love sharing music almost as much as I love listening to it. The purpose of this blog is to do just that and bring you along the journey with me.
