5. Gold Motel - Gold Motel
Gold Motel is Greta Morgan, formerly of The Hush Sound. It is the result of her moving from Chicago to Los Angeles to find inspiration. You can certainly hear the influence of 60's laden beach pop in the songs off this album. Her voice is liquid gold. She is joined by Eric Hehr (guitar, songs) and Dan Duszynski (guitar, vocals, songs), and features Matt Minx (bass) and Adam Coldhouse (drums) on the studio releases. I place this in the category of beach pop, but also influenced by Motown and twee as well. This album makes listening to music fun.
